E-scooter rider in serious condition after crash in Waikiki

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man riding an electric scooter was hospitalized after he was hit by a vehicle in Waikiki.

According to the Honolulu Emergency Medical Service, a 35-year-old man was hit by a vehicle along Kalakaua Avenue at around 4 p.m.

EMS said the victim suffered serious head injuries and took him to the hospital.

Officials said the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
