Arrest Made in Rochester, MN Stabbing

Jul 07, 2023Jul 07, 2023

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department says a man accused of stabbing another man in southeast Rochester has turned himself in.

Police Captain Casey Moilanen earlier said officers responded to a stabbing at the Parkside Mobile Home Park at 2315 Park Ln. Southeast shortly before 5:30 a.m. Friday. Responding officers encountered the 32-year-old male victim out front of one of the units suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen.

At the time of responding to the call, investigators were working to determine whether or not the stabbing was an act of self-defense. Moilanen said Tuesday that investigators determined a physical fight occurred inside of one of the mobile homes and ended with the stabbing.

The suspect then fled the mobile home park in a vehicle with his girlfriend. Moilanen said the stabbing suspect, identified as 37-year-old Larnell Williams, called police later in the day on Friday to turn himself in.

Police and Williams agreed to meet at the Eyota Kwik Trip where Williams was taken into custody, Moilanen said. Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate Williams was booked about three and half hours after the stabbing report on suspicion of 2nd-degree assault.

Moilanen said the stabbing victim was brought to St. Mary's Hospital for further care, however his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening. A woman who tried to break up the fight that led to the stabbing was cut during the incident. She was evaluated and released at the scene.
